Holiday Parties At Work: My Thoughts

in #vlog5 years ago

It’s the holiday season, which means it’s party time at work!

Or not? Well, holiday parties at work can be engaging and fun, but then there are downsides as well. If the company you work at has an end of the year celebration, it’s an excellent time to reflect on any accomplishments in the past year, and for employers to show appreciation to their employees. It’s a time to reflect while looking forward to the new year ahead.

However, not all companies plan the best holiday parties (heck, some companies don’t bother having a holiday party at the end of the year). Factors include the time of the day (for example, lunch hours or in the evening), having alcohol available, and who is invited (family and friends). Additionally, religion and politics can be a bad mix if those subjects come up during a party. Don’t get me wrong: holiday work parties can be beneficial, but employers should be mindful when planning out their end of year parties. Moreover, they should know what their employees would like to have at a party so that they can have the best experience possible.
