Driving to the Kournas Lake on Crete Island! (BEAUTIFUL!!!)

Hey dear Steemians,

today I uploaded the next Vlog of my travel trip to Crete island in July & August 2019 on my Youtube channel.

In this video Im driving to the beautiful Kournas lake on Crete island and Im also showing you some impressions on the highway to the Kournas lake.

I just love these roads in Greece with the mountains on one side and the sea on the other side.

Its a so nice way and you can really enjoy to drive there, not like in a capital city like Berlin, where you only see cars and buildings...

But you have to be very careful with car driving in Greece, because the people dont care about traffic rules and there are many situations, where you have to drive on the side of the road, because someone comes behind you very fast. If you know this, it´s very relaxing to drive on the highways in Greece.

The Kournas lake is the only natural freshwater lake on the Greek island of Crete. It is located in the west of Crete near the north coast near Georgioupoli.

The outflow of the lake flows into the Mediterranean Sea at Georgioupolis. It is the home of turtles, snakes and various dragonfly species.

Unfortunely I haven´t seen turtles or snakes, but it was a very beautiful trip and I enjoyed to explore this lake with the wonderful clear water a lot. It was also a very hot day and the water of the Kournas lake was very refreshing, more refreshing as the sea.
