RE: Monday Seoul | Gwanghwamun 광화문

Admiral Yi Sun-sin must have been a bad ass judging by the statue.

How tall is the statue of him?

The statue is 17 meters tall and made from bronze (another source has described it as 19m tall, and yet another, as a 6.4m tall statue on top on an 18-meter pedestal). -wikipedia

haha he was a baddass. literally ruled the sea.
japanese samurais were strong on land. unfortunately they lost in the ocean.

Unfortunately they lost in the ocean.

Unfortunately for Japan, fortunately for Korea :)

Is the dragon symbol part of Korean culture and history as well. It's present in China. I don't know about Japan.

I wonder if dragons actually existed? It can't be just coincidence or myth. The symbol/coat of arms of the city of Ljubljana is a dragon actually and there's a statue of it.

later on during ww2 japan did succeed and they took over 😆
korea doesn't have too many dragons in the culture. maybe a little in stories.
dragon symbolizes the emperor in asia (mostly china), and as a chinese protectorate, korea didn't really have the permission to create any culture around it.
