Batch 1 closed at $6,500.00!
Congratulations @cryptomancer!

As you can see here we powered up 100% of the auction proceeds!

We are paying you $1 for each of your Steem!
Official ICO Live Auction Thread for VIVA Right Here on Steemit

VIVA is the price stable crypto currency with reliable income features.
It was introduced to the world by @williambanks over the course of several postings.

Part 1 : Introduction to a Price Stable Crypto Currency With Basic Income
Part 2 : VIVA Components Explained
Part 3 : VIVA Components Explained - Part 2
Part 4 : Bootstrapping the VIVA Economy

In order to guarantee an income for all participants, the VIVA economy is structured around the interplay of several economic layers.
Three of these layers are crypto currencies that serve specific purposes within the ecosystem.
The fourth layer is a fiat gateway with debit Mastercard issuing capabilities.

This auction is the first of it's kind in the world. It's going extremely well!

Auction Details:

There will only ever be 42,000 VIVA Crowns.
The first 4,000 are to be distributed over the course of 4 rounds.
After ICO there will only be One Crown found per week!

Each batch or round corresponds with a milestone we've reached.
Creating the exchange and fiat gateway was our first milestone and began the launch of the live auction for VIVA Crowns, our fundamental base layer.

Today we finished our ICO website www.vivaco.in
Drop by and check it out!

These auctions serve two purposes.

  1. They allow us to perform adequate price discovery, because when we speak to institutional investors they do want to see that.
  2. They give everyone a chance acquire some while the price is low.
  3. We use the powered up steem to provide upvotes to our developers as a perk to help attract and retain top talent.

We believe that everybody should have the opportunity to benefit from the explosive growth we're about to undergo.
Running the auction here is our way of saying thank you to the steem community for everything you've done for us.

As it turns out though, requiring bidding on the entire batch of 100 Crowns, locked many people out from the get go, even with the bonus we paid for steem.

Rules:

  1. The auction is still priced in USD.
  2. You can settle in any currency supported by @blocktrades.
  3. There are only 90 VIVA Crowns available in this batch.
  4. You have up to 7 days to settle.
  5. Whether steem or SBD, we give you a $1 credit for each unit you use at settlement.
  6. Your bid is per unit of currency.
  7. You can specify the number of units you want at settlement.
  8. For your bid to be accepted it must be at least $1 higher than your previous high bid.
  9. The auction closes at post payout

@onceuponatime put in a bid of $6600 for the previous lot of 100
This was higher than the high bid at close but they delayed too long to put their bid in.

So we're opening this batch up at $66

When you bid, you just say something like...

I bid $67.00

You do not NEED to specify how many units you want, but you CAN if you choose to.
The highest per unit bidder at close will get first say on how many they want, then the second highest bidder, then the third etc until this batch is completely sold. Winners will be announced in the third batch.

Keep in mind that this is a carry over auction. The ceiling of the previous batch becomes the floor of the next.

Ah, good call there! I should have done that at the end of the auction. I didn't want to during since that seemed it would've been annoying. But I'll make sure to do this on following auctions. Thx @alechahn!

I was asked to start going down the list to see how many crowns each bidder wanted to purchase. I'll be trying to catch people in steemit.chat to do this (im also sykochica in there.)

@svamiva, @kenny-crane, @carolyn-brodie and @ethansteem what are your names in steemit.chat? or if you could send me a DM of how many crowns you were looking to purchase at your bid prices :)

I chose to get 8 Crowns and have just sent 1376 steem to @vivacoin. I don't know what others will do after me. They have every right to purchase as many as they want, but I hope everyone who wants one or more Crowns gets a chance to get them, now or in the future. Best wishes to all! :-)

Hey everyone! I've asked @sykochica and @phoenixmaid to handle auction acknowledgements while I work.

Thank you for your bid @phoenixmaid
You bid of $150 makes you the second highest bidder. Congratulations!

Can I still participate?

sorry @liondani the auction for this batch has ended, there will be another soon, follow @vivacoin and @williambanks for updates.

I'm just seeing this now. Batch 3 will be coming here very soon.

I'm glad you've adjusted the rules, because my aim is just to plant a seed, not to rule the world )
I bid $500

Thank you for your bid @svamiva
Your bid of $500 makes you the current top bidder.

Q1. does this bid mean the starting price for batch 3 is at least $500? if so, wow!
Q2. what if the bidder cannot keep this promise afterwards? (this is a question in general, not referring to svamiva in particular!)
Q3. the number of units - does it need to be integral?
Thanks!

Q1. does this bid mean the starting price for batch 3 is at least $500? if so, wow!

Yes that's exactly what that means.

Q2. what if the bidder cannot keep this promise afterwards? (this is a question in general, not referring to svamiva in particular!)

Then I'm going to be sad and my feelings will be hurt. There isn't a mechanism here to force settlement. We just assume honorable intent.

Q3. the number of units - does it need to be integral?

At settlement you can specify number of units. VIVA Crowns are all integrals because they are a specific right within the system. So the number needs to be an integer, that integer can be as low as 1. No reason you can't get a group together and subdivide an interest, but that's a personal business dealing.

Excellent questions and thanks for bidding!

So now a single VIVA Crown costs $500? That's big jump from $66 which prices so many out. Wow!

Well what it means is that particular bidder is willing to pay $500 per unit, this gives him first dibs.
But the number of units is left unspecified.

Remember this auction isn't all or nothing. It's intentionally blind this way.
At close we will settle with each of the highest bidders until the batch is gone, so just bid what you can afford.

OK, so if this bidder wants only one VIVA Crown, he pays $500, but if he wants 10, he pays $5000. If he does not purchase all 90, the next bidder may pay only $100 per VIVA Crown, if they are the next highest bidder. Additionally, if some are remaining, the next bidder may still pay only $66. (Of course, this is assuming these are the only bidders - for simplicity). I understand. I really like he way this is being offered.

Yes and I'm about to update the rules here to specify that you can do fill in bids, so long as your bid is at least $1 higher than your previous bid. The point of this is to find the correct price the market will support.

Well, yes, my idea was just to specify later that I only want 1 unit at that price and see, what happens )

Thanks, we were all curious when the price jumped like that!

I like the price blinding and fill in method. It takes away any advantage to waiting to bid. It eliminates bid sniping and lets everyone just say what they feel is the best price for them.

Price jumps like that are also nice because it shows people that this coin does in fact have far more value than they may be considering at the moment and so to look at this as a long term investment and not speculation.

Thank you for bidding, you are still the top bidder at $500!

I'm happy with just one, or maybe a few.

Yeah this works best if the quantity is blinded until settlement.
Keep in mind this is the last one where we take steem at a rate of $1 each.

Also you do have right of first sale in future batches and rounds.
So there is a real economic benefit from buying in this batch and selling in say Friday's batch which will be getting some press because we'll be talking about it on @officialfuzzy and then Saturday when we talking about it on @sykochica and company's NPR on Crack.

Also we're getting some outside steem media next week, but I'm supposed to be quiet about that right now.

Thank you for bidding @nextgen622
With your bid of $69 you are presently the second fourth highest bidder!

So, for now from 90 units you sold one for 500 and a few for 67-69 ( they might want to buy all, but there's no guarantee)
What happens if you don't get enough buyers for all 90 units ?

So, for now from 90 units you sold one for 500 and a few for 67-69 ( they might want to buy all, but there's no guarantee)

That is exactly correct! It will be at least 1 and could be all 89 remaining (assuming no one outbids you).

What happens if you don't get enough buyers for all 90 units ?

Then round 1 is over with and we move to round 2 which is a sealed bid at 2x the highest bid from round 1. Currently that floor price would be $1,000.

I should also note that round 1 buyers have right of first sale in future rounds. Meaning if anyone buys now and wants to sell in a future round, theirs will sell before ours.

The point is to ensure that these find their proper price, so we take active steps to prevent the price from falling.

At approximately what time do you expect this auction to end? I understand at next payout, but when is that payout due (approximately)?

If you click the price on any post you can see how long is remaining until payout.

This post has been ranked within the top 80 most undervalued posts in the first half of Nov 20. We estimate that this post is undervalued by $4.24 as compared to a scenario in which every voter had an equal say.

I bid $155.
Guys, I just want one really. To be safe, at most I will just buy 3 units. If I have the chance.

Thank for your bidding @deanliu !
Your bid of $155 makes you the second highest bidder at this time.

Just an FYI, there is no need to disclose the number of units you intend to purchase.
The mystery of not knowing, adds to the excitement for everyone, including us!

With @svamiva there was just a question about whether he thought he was bidding per unit or for the lot because his bid was nearly x10 the next highest bid and he came out so strong so early.
He has made it known he knows he is bidding per unit.

On the other hand, a good strategy for every bidder might be to CLAIM they are only buying one or two in order to keep others from being more competitive in their bids. Then the high bidder could just acquire the whole batch without feeling the pressure of increased bidding pressure, because people are lulled into a false sense of security.

That's why we asked to keep the quantities blind until settlement.

Thank you for your bid @renenouveau !
Your bid of $75 makes you the third highest bid at this time!
