Hurricane Laura-damaged chemical plant near Lake Charles continues into 2nd day

The blaze at the BioLab Inc. chlorine production facility in Westlake was temporarily extinguished Thursday afternoon, several hours after the storm passed, but leapt back to life during the evening, prompting an expanded shelter-in-place alert and warnings to avoid contact with chlorine gas and other harmful emissions.

Interesting article about a chemical plant fire that is the direct result of Hurricane Laura. This is exactly what makes these storms so dangerous in areas like Lake Charles which has a lot of oil and gas and chemical plants. I hope that this doesn't end up being more harmful to the people that are exposed to it. The last thing that these people need is to get sick from chemicals in the air. We think we're lucky when a storm hits in an unpopulated area, but unpopulated areas sometimes can be the most dangerous to the health of people.....
