The demon slayer, a divine weapon forged from the breath of God Himself, wielded by the fierce arch Angel Michael, punisher of all things evil. This is an offspring of my mind as inspired by the #visionaryart-contest by @elohprojects.

For this contest, we were given three categories to choose from to make our designs:

• An alien plant
• A hyperdimensional object
• A divine weapon

Obviously, divine struck me and after brainstorming for a while, THE DEMON SLAYER was born!

The fiction Explained

I'm gonna break "Divine Weapon" into two as the inspiration came to me

Divine

When I thought of the word divine, three things struck me immediately

1. Angels
2. Light or illumination
3. Halo

Weapon

I believe swords are the most significant weapons, the shapes and forms they can take are limitless. Also, I thought of love as the best weapon against evil. The problem now was blending them all into one magnificent piece.

So, I chose the sword as my weapon, it's rain guard is a silver crest showing angels kissing to illustrate both love and angels, what is more divine than that! The cross of the sword is also inspired by angel wings. It has a symmetrical double edged point to signify fairness and equity. Then to top it all, an Halo hovers on top of the point, the source of light that defeats all darkness. Not even the devil can stand this!!!

The Process

It started with a sketch, as usual...

But up until this point, the halo looks flat, and there's no effect of light😕. But wait, how can there be light without darkness, light is only visible because there's some degree of darkness around it. So for black and white drawing, charcoal is the best to render darkness, and charcoal I used!
