Green turtle stone shell

When we speak of alien we come in mind a grotezca creature with evil aspect, for a change I decided to create a character that does not stand out for its horrifying aspect, quite the opposite.

Characteristics

The green turtle stone shell, belongs to the species: Aldabrachelys monathria (A. monathria), measures approximately 1.65cm long and 0.89cm high, it recurs on the planet (Proteus 05789) of the galaxy serxfanthes.

Process

I always start by making the structure of the illustration in this case my turtle is composed of: five circles, which one with strokes to give shape. You can see the boxes which belong to the colors you use and how to mix it I create other secondary colors to give shade.

My way of illustrating is to paint by layers, I start with base colors and then I add textures.

By expanding the illustration we can see small details as I emphasize in the painting, like veins, vegetation growing on the stone and the body of the turtle, the skin of the turtle is a tribal composed of silhouettes of plants, you can also see that the head and tail is composed of hair
