Building a virtual business in a virtual world.

Decentraland is a new generation of the virtual world. It will be available on many devices with a large focus on virtual reality and other immersive devices. Decentraland will be totally run and created by the users. The world that is contained inside Decentraland is segmented and stored on a blockchain, the land segments can then be claimed by the users. When a user claims land, they can put whatever they want on it: buildings, art, games and almost anything else you can think of. Best of all, because Decentraland is stored on the blockchain, this is all done without any overshadowing company controlling what happens.

Building businesses are one of the many things you do in Decentraland. With its own Cryptocurrency, called MANA, which has real world value and is stored in the blockchain, businesses can trade and sell goods and services without fear of payments being pulled and without the use of an intermediary such as a bank or company.

Many goods and services could be offered in Decentraland. You could build a cinema and sell tickets or subscriptions, or create your own arcade with custom scripting; you could even start an art/design company, selling sculptures or buildings that could be bought by users and placed on other people's land.

This will allow for a rich and vibrant social and economic experience that will differ greatly from previous virtual worlds.
