Disappearances in Virginia

I have read a short post on a decentralized web page (on ZeroTalk, which is a Reddit-like decentralized forum) about disappearances in Virginia. Nowadays I do not live in the USA, and I have not visited the USA so far, but this topic is interesting, because according to the writer of the post, he talked to a person recently, who made a research about multiple disappearances around the US, and after compiling his research, he find out and told him "that Virginia has a 5 sigma difference in the number of cases of disappearances in Virginia compared to any other state".

The writer of the post wrote the following about the disappearances:

My initial thought was that it has something to do with the disappearances on Route 29, and after that it was to do with local gangs due to the proximity to Washington, which is a shithole full of drugs, so it might've been foul play. Aside from this, I'm completely stunted, and any information anyone might have is appreciated.
