Who's got vinyl? John Lennon ~ Rock 'N' Roll 1975

I remember being be a little disappointed in this album when it came out. Listening to it now i think i was influenced by the reviewers. It sounds good but maybe "overproduced?" It's not as raw as the originals which is actually kind of cool in a way but also VERY controversial. If you are going to really do a tribute it's always a debate on how old school are you going to do it. Loud drums and bass always seem to throw me off on this type of stuff. Too many microphones? Yeah didn't do that way in the olden days. It's interesting and obviously completely long gone to anyone under about 60 years old hahahahah.

One way of doing covers is to totally take it over and change it to be your own sound. The most beatleish sounding tracks here are pretty cool. Listen to Standby Me and the intro to You Can't Catch Me. "Here come old flat top!"
