My name is Stan and I go by Millstap on YouTube. I've played guitar now for forty-seven years. I love it and it is still therapeutic. Music keeps you young. I particularly like to play blues, mostly contemporary artists. My all time heroes are Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Johnny Winter.

This picture is from when we opened for Johnny back in Texas in 2009. It was taken in his trailer that he toured the country in. I began collecting vintage Fender Tweed and Blackface amps trying to get THE tone that I had always heard on the records of my day. My purchases were fairly random but in the process, I was lucky enough to purchase one of the Holy Grail Fender amps, the 1960 Tweed Bassman. My Tweed Bassman amp has become well known on YouTube and is used as a tone benchmark by many boutique amp builders and profilers.

Almost all of the amps I purchased had some type of issue when I first got them. I was forced to learn how to repair them because I did not know any reputable amp repair technicians. I've learned a lot over the years so I pay what I have learned forward just as the ones who helped me repair my amps when I was in dire straits.

I do a few covers on my channel and love dissecting Jimi Hendrix's tone and technique. I've gotten fairly good at emulating his tone on my 1960 Bassman. He used Marshall amps but the first Marshall amps in 1964 were exact copies of the 1959 Tweed Bassman which is the famous 5F6-A circuit.

My purpose here on Steemit is to help anyone that is trying find the perfect vintage, new, or reissue amp for their playing style. Also, to help them troubleshoot problems with their amps or guitars. It will take me a little while to figure out how to use my account here but here we go. I'm looking forward to it!
