Surya Namaskarwhich is known as Sun Salutation in English, means to bow to the sun in the morning. In whatever that we eat, drink and breathe, there is an element of sun.

To get maximum benefits of Surya Namaskar

Bathe in cool water :- Take a shower before yoga practice, with water little cooler than room temperature. By doing so, the intercellular spaces expand. For practicing yoga, it is needed to contract the cells and expand the intercellular spaces, so that the cellular structure can be charged with energy.
Rub sweat in skin :- Whenever practicing yoga asanas, if you sweat, rub off sweat back to the exposed skin. Do not wipe with a towel. When you wipe off sweat with towel, you lose energy.
Consume right amount of water :- Drink as much as your body needs. About 70 percent of the body is made up of water, so it knows how to manage itself.

Surya Namaskar is made up of 12 asanas.

The Sun Salution is one of my favorite exercises, but it wasn't always like that.

It can be hard to perform correctly for initiates, so they may start with a bit of hate towards the motion... daily yoga practice fixes this.

Cheers and thank you for sharing ginger!

@spiritualmax, glad to know.

Yes, it is difficult to start with when you are new to Yoga. Practice and dedication makes things better and easier. One round of Sun Salutation is equal to 12 asanas, and this is incredible. This is the beauty of yoga. It gives you, what your body needs.

I am glad to know that you are doing Inner Engineering course. It teaches you that Yoga is not about twisting and bending your bodies, but it is about energising your internal cells with divine energy.
Surya Namaskar, is the first of Yoga, cause everything that we get in this world is because of Sun, and it is the small gesture to pay gratitude.
