Hello Josh,

I'm not vincent obviously, but I know a little about some cameras. There is one camera that will do both video and photography, and does both reasonably well as long as you stay within the limits of it's capabilities. The Panasonic DMC-FZ2000 uses the same lens and sensor as the Panasonic HC-X1 video Camera costing 3 x as much.

In low light situations I use the FZ2000 for wide angle video shots and the FZ300 for close up work. With well lit situations the FZ2000 is more than adequate to do both. I have enough 4K video examples posted showing what these cameras can do without additional lighting in a dark café.

Many manufacturers are developing their sensor only cameras as the need for the mirror not only increases the body size and weight, but also keeps a delay time needed to fold the mirror out of the way.

While not used as a main camera by professionals, many professionals have a FZ2000 as their back up camera should their expensive gear fail. The main reason for not using the FZ2000 as their main camera is because it does not have dual SD card slots; if the SD card fails, you go home empty handed. The other reason is that you can't change lenses, but the 25-400mm range is adequate in most situations.

Hope this info is useful for you, Greetings!
