Friday update stream recap
Hey everyone,
As promised here is a small recap about today's livestream. Make sure to ask if some things are still unclear.
At first I discussed how @vimm’s upvotes are going to reward content consumption instead of just content creation. In practice this will translate to that streamers will get closer to the maximum vote weight relatively fast as soon as they get some viewers and chat activity.

From that point on it might be more worthy to advertise your stream and network, as the upvote frequency will stay rather low. Getting more viewership and chat activity will from then influence the chat frequency more than the upvote weight.

Curators will be able to increase the upvote weight as well as speed up the upvote frequency for that specific time if they deem the stream worth it. Further will curators still have the possibility to hand out a modest upvote. This will mostly be used to motivate new streamers.
It’s important to notice from this that both networking/advertising as well as creating quality content is important. Networking and advertising will bring new viewers, creating quality content will make them return.
Important to note is that this won't be implimented any time soon. We want to be sure that the metrics and the weight we give them are on point first.
The next topic in line was the Vimm logo. We’ve seen some people creating some amazing things using the Vimm logo. We want to make clear that we allow, and even encourage, doing so if it is for personal use.
You can’t distribute these and this sadly means that you can’t give them away either. Some people have already reached out to us saying that they would like to get Vimm merchandise. We’ll create a poll soon to figure out how big the community’s interest is. If we see that the response is positive we’ll definitely look in the possibilities.
Last but not least we talked about the events. Tomorrow (technically today in certain regions including mine) will be #vimmraidday. This will be the first in many of Vimm events and community events supported by Vimm. After vimmraidday the next event we will support will be a charity stream from @ddrfr33k’s. After that the Polish and German community will create a esports tournament where Vimm will add to the prizepool.
We want to encourage communities, organizations and individuals that want to create a event and stream it live on Vimm. Thus, we will create a community pool in which we make every month a certain amount of Steem available to contribute to events created by the communities e.g. 100 steem a month for 4 events.
Doing so we hope that the communities can create events that appeal to their members the most. After all they know them the best. More info will follow around this later.
That wraps up the topics of today's stream. Thanks a for everyone that tuned in and I see all you tomorrow for vimmraidday
Great thank you for the recap . I missed your stream . It is every Friday on 8 pm ? Then i will plan my activities better next time:D
Every Friday yeah, it might not always be a talkshow, sometimes I might enjoy a game while talking about Vimm. But no time to play today. Big day coming up tomorrow :D
