Why people like to draw penises
For centuries people were and will be drawing penises, whether secretly depicting them in notepads during boring office-meeting or publicly, drawing graffitis or scratching the ice on lakes, in videogames, on cars and on any surfaces not yet covered with penises.
But why do we do it? Specifically, I want to make out an example with video games, since this area is much closer to me.
In videogames, as in many other spheres of life, which provide us with canvases for self-expression, people draw penises automatically. Why do people even do it? Is it subconscious? Are they testing the limits of what they are allowed - gamers always test them - what gameplay opportunities can the game provide?
Mind you: if you think that the game allows this, then you can be sure someone already draw it(or worse, remeber the rule 34 ;)
So what's the deal? Right away- there is NO definite answer.
There are many different approaches to this question: Freudian, Marxist, feminist, evolutionary-psychological, existential, etc.
You could ask the question "Why do people draw phallos?" as a bridge to the question "Why are we here?","What is happiness?"or any other Great Philosophical Question."
People draw penises because they think that it will shock people, this is one of the few visual taboos, and it's not so difficult to do either.
Another option- it's a large part of our culture. The phallus was always present in art and sculptures, moreover, let's rewind the time even further back - to the very first cave carvings ever discovered on Earth. We are talking about the oldest cave drawing of all. According to the statements of the scientists, it was made presumably 10,000 years ago. Caveman did not forget about phallus.
There is even a project that "will transform the logo of your competitor into a dick." Penised. The company started with the idea of using the sex organ as a tool of insulting, but then a lot of companies asked them to "penisify" their own logos to make them viral and increase the brand's popularity. That's right: there are companies whose directors are eager to turn their own logo into a weiner.
The most convincing answer may give a Freudian theory- penis and associated with this "tool" pleasures in general were the source of our civilization, the climax of happiness and the meaning of life for the early man. But it does not answer the question of why we are doing this today.Maybe we will never find out. After all, we still don't know the purpose of life.
