In Africa, hippos and crocodiles share the same habitats, but there are very few conflicts between the two. Hippos are much stronger and larger than your average croc – and the crocodiles respect that and leave hippos alone!

A baby hippo that is unattended may be attacked by a crocodile though. What is odd though is that a baby hippo will actually chew on a crocodile’s scales – only if momma is around!
