I have logged around 750 hours of ARK on PC and you sum it up pretty nicely for me. While the "base" and "official" version of the game is insanely time consuming and lacks in a lot of aspects, the combination of custom rates and tons of free mods (currently slowly added to consoles) makes "unofficial" play very fun!
Yeah I'd advise anyone looking to play the game to jump into unofficial ASAP. Making the game less grindy allows it to be loads more fun! I'm happy you enjoyed the review!
