I CAN RUN | Short film of the week #6
I followed my friend @lisamalletart running at the beach, I tried telling a story in this video, hopefully you will grasp some of it, if not you can always ask me.
The series "Short Film of the Week" is meant to make me break some creative boundaries, I am trying to get more and more creative with each of my videos. None of them can be the same, for that I am trying to learn new techniques and new ways of telling you a story.
Where it was filmed? At the beaches of a small village called Trancoso, in the state of Bahia - Brazil. Here it is a map for you to have an idea:

I loved the sense of freedome and independence in your film- that beautiful feeling if living life on your own terms in exactly the way you want it.
The filming was astonishingly stylish- I'm guessing youre using a drone? I'll have to search through your other posts for any info about your filming process, I'd love to read more about how you work.

Thank you very much, yes I am using a drone, Mavic Pro. I don't have much of a filming processes, I am an amateur beginner just searching what is right for me. But I am glad to hear that you liked this one, hope you will like the next to come!!
I felt the feeling of freedom, and self-conquest. The joy and self-confidence in her own strength through my screen. And what a beautiful environment! Beautifully filmed and very appropriate music .. Or this is what you wanted to tell with this movie I do not know ... I only indicate what I experienced when watching.

With minimum materials (a beautiful scenery, a flying camera and a girl) you created a concept with strong symbolism (freedom) and amazing photography, well done!

Well, I just read you post and it's very nice! It's funny how people see Brazil, with a very abstract view of the country but not wrong either. I would say that you missed some things that people generally say of brazil.
Anyway, I hope you understand that is just what the country is famous for, like your post said, hope you want to visit some time.

A short video every week??? That's amazing!
I did like this one, and I had my eyes out for secret story messages. But at the end I felt myself awed by the size and grandeur of the natural world. I run because I can, because, what else can I do? Turns out she can swim a bit too. ;p
Correct me if I am wrong, but this to me feels like a response to 'feeling so small in the world'. It is such a big and daunting world, with enormous blue oceans, pressed up against seemingly never ending jungles of green, with just a tiny narrow beige strip in the center. What's a puny human to do about it? RUN!

You got one point of the video, at the end you can have this idea of gigantic space that you feel like a tinny dot in the world, and you can run all your life that you will never see it all. But the main point that I tried to pass resolves in what she says at the beguining:
That you can interpret in many ways, but what it strikes me the most is the expression of freedom showed by the action of running. She don't run because someone tel her to, not because running is good for health but because she want, she can and she will. Running here represents the freedom itself, I am not saying that if you can't run you are not free, I am saying all that you can do it's an expression of your freedom of choice.
Then as the video goes on, the idea of vastitude appears in the video, the response of "feeling small in the world" is freedom. You run because you can chose freedom of choice, the world is vast yes, but you can chose witch path to take. If you ar not free you will wonder the world without and end, you will have the impression that you are small.

Fantastic! Yes I see, running is just a symbol for the freedom we have to do what we choose to do. If we must run for some reason or another, it is not our choice and it is then boring and sad. But if we shift our perspective and realize that WE CAN RUN!!!! in this vast and open world, we can do it, we can go, we can be free, - that is when we are free.

What amazing photography? How did you capture the different viewpoints? Did you use a drone or have a look out point to film from?
Oh, to be able to run freely on the beaches in the sand! This film awakened a desire in me to run but alas I can no longer run for I was in a car accident and suffered a spinal cord injury. I'm very grateful that I can walk but my body can no longer run. With that said I can still appreciate the beauty of form and an amazing short film!
Thank you, I captured all with my drone, Mavic Pro. The most part I followed her flying but the close shots I had it on my hand because otherwise it would be impossible;
