Edward Bernays is the nephew of the world famous psychologist Sigmund Freud, best known for his study of human behavior where sex is concerned and, thanks to Robin Williams, his use of cocaine. Now certainly you are at least familiar with the name "Freud" or the "Freudian Slip" and yet you would not be were it not for the marketing efforts of one Edward Bernays. There's a distinct possibility women would not smoke, maybe no one. He's the reason wars are portrayed the way they are. He's the reason products are associated with base human instincts to make you want things you would otherwise have no interest in.
