Behind the Scenes : VFX :Marvel’s Black Panther #3
If I had to reduce “Black Panther” to a single word, it would be “glorious.” The movie was a first on many fronts: a Marvel blockbuster directed by an African American, Ryan Coogler, and starring a nearly all-black cast led by Chadwick Boseman as the title character King T’Challa (the “Black Panther” himself), Michael B. Jordan as the villain Killmonger, Danai Gurira as Okoye, the head of the king’s guard and Lupita Nyong’o as Nakia, the king’s lady love — and the kingdom’s chief spy in the outside world.
Capital T, Double Negative, ILM, Luma Pictures, Mammal Studios, Method Studios, Ghost VFX, Exceptional Minds, Rise Visual Effects, Scanline VFX, Storm Studio & Trixter worked on Black Panther VFX. Geoff Baumann VFX Supervisor at at Marvel Studios worked as overall VFX Supervisor for the movie.
They recently released few Images of the VFX breakdown:-
Arrival of new King
Return's to home after Events of Captian America: Civil War
Wakanda, Small nation can be found somewhere in Equatorial Africa “surrounded by the nations of Narobia, Uganda, Kenya, Somalia, and Ethiopia.
Rise of Golden Jaguar
Anti-Hero with good intentions
Wakanda takes that juxtaposition of old and new up several powerful notches, however. It’s a place framed by old-school ruling structures (chieftains, kings, warriors, etc.) but also one of the wealthiest and most technologically advanced nations in the world. Because of its access to the valuable ore Vibranium, Wakanda is a thriving country in the comic books and the movie.
Necropolis:
The Wakandan City of the Dead... Where Black Panthers lives after death.
Okoye and Nakia
Always Loyal to the throne
El Dorado
"Tell me something. What do you know about Wakanda?"
"It's a third world country. Textiles, shepherds, cool outfits..."
"All a front. Explorers have searched for it. Called it El Dorado. They looked for it in South America, but it was in Africa the whole time."
―Ulysses Klaue and Everett Ross
Ulysses Klaue
Entry TIcket for Killmonger in Wakanda
Wakanda Forever
The Wealthiest and most Technologically advanced nations in the world
It is on of the shot in movie where Scanline VFX digitally remove Klaue’s left arm, then add some cloth sim of that kind of shirt of a particular thick texture. Then to attach the false arm remnants. Originally, Klaue lost his arm in another of the Marvel franchise movies, Avengers: Age of Ultron.
