to all our brave soldiers who selflessly served in the military to defend our freedoms that lay the foundation to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
Without your service, dear veterans, we would not have the countless things that we take for granted today such the right to exercise religion and free speech, and the right to bear arms.
Article [I] (Amendment 1 - Freedom of expression and religion)
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Article [II] (Amendment 2 - Bearing Arms)
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Therefore, let us:
“Honor to the Soldier, and Sailor everywhere, who bravely bears his country’s cause. Honor also to the citizen who cares for his brother in the field, and serves, as he best can, the same cause.”
– Abraham Lincoln
Whatever the future may hold, we shall never forget the sacrifice you have made, risking your lives, many of you have lost it. We shall honor you today and always.
It is my prayer, that all honorable people in this nation are saluting you today and stand up for the values that you have fought for selflessly.
