It’s official! Singers Keyshia Cole and Ashanti will be the next two artists to go hit-for-hit for a Verzuz battle. The virtual event is set to go down on Saturday, December 12 at 8 pm EST.

“Yeah, it’s official!,” Verzuz said on their official Instagram account on December 4. “The paperwork is IN…It’s a legendary Ladies Night on Saturday December 12th with [Ashanti] and [Keyshia Cole.]

The news of the face off was first teased yesterday, when Cole shared that she would be participating in an upcoming battle via Instagram live. Fans speculated about who she could go up against, and some called it by saying that Ashanti would be the best opponent for her.

Last month the second season of Verzuz kicked off with one of the most epic battles between Atlanta rap legends Jeezy and Gucci Mane. They are back another iconic matchup. Ashanti and Keyshia Cole are set for the next installment to go hit for hit. Ashanti took to social media share the exciting news.

Many fans have been wanting to see a battle between the two R&B divas. Their wish has finally become a reality.

The two collaborated on a song in 2012, titled “Woman to Woman.”

The incredible and iconic matchup marks the fourth female-charged battle, following Erykah Badu and Jill Scott, Monica and Brandy, and Gladys Knight and Patti LaBelle.
