If you have have been following the recent news in the crypto-community. Than you have heard about the recent hype around Verge. Verge uses multiple anonymity-centric networks such as TOR and I2P. The IP addresses of the users are fully obfuscated. The Core QT wallet has built-in TOR integration as well as SSL encryption which adds an extra level of security. In other words verge focus is privacy. During the recent decline of bitcoin in the first quarter of the year, verge was one of the few coins that continued increase in price.

The community awaits the announcement on a long awaited partnership. Verge has had a price surge since this news hit the market; so far the coin’s price has increased by 180% in the last month. There is a lot of speculation on what this partnership could be.
In March 2018 verge started a crowdfund asking its community to donate verge currency to get the partnership deal done. This raised flags for many holders of the crypto currency. Asking, Why would they needed money to get a partnership? Nevertheless, the money was raised and verge announced that they will reveal their partnership on Monday April 16th.

There is a rumor that the founder started a crowdfund to pay his taxes. Some people in the community believe that the founder of the currency needed to access his funds that were on hold by coinbase.
Others believe that verge recent climb is exit scam. Verge was recently the victim of a hack. The hacker reportedly making off with $1 million-worth of tokens. Verge acknowledged the hack and their quick fix was a hard fork.

The ugly

If the verge crowdfund was used to help the founder pay his taxes, that could spell bad news for the currency. Of course if that was ever reveled. On the other hand if verge release great news on the 16th, you can expect verge price to really surge.

My views

Im going to play this move safe. I am a holder of the currency and will use stop-loss trades to prevent losses. I hope that verge announcement is a big deal. I believe verge is one of the great privacy coins on the market. If all is well for verge I predict the price to be over $1.00 at the end of the year.
