Today, the Venezuelan leader announced that the currency will be tied to the value of the new cryptocurrency called the Petro.
This caused a massive devaluation of the bolivar.

Let me be clear about this. Petro is a scam. I see a lot of comments seeing this as an opportunity and a good thing for cryptocurrencies but all of you are missinformed. Right now, we have zero chance to invest in cryptocurrencies because we have zero freedom in our economic choices.
So please stop telling lies about what you don´t know, this is just goverment propaganda based in fake information. This is bad for the cryptocurrencies in general, petro value is less than zero because is just a scam and in reality, there are just a communist reform made to take control over every private asset in the country.
By the way, things like this are making steemit a big steaming pile of shit, stupid bad content made trending by the use of bid bots. You should be ashamed.
If you look at Turkey, the same will happen here. They are buying BTC like crazy after the lira has fallen!
The only problem with Turkey is that they are so connected to Europe.

Turkey are slowly trying to break their ties with Europe and build closer alliances with China, Iran, Russia etc. This is why Turkey is facing this economic attack from America.
And Erdogan desperately wants to remain on his glorious Sultan seat. =)

In Venezuela we suffered that economic attack. With the difference that the government does not know how to defend itself.
And there is a lot of corruption, as in Iran.
