He is; Simón Narciso Díaz Márquez, better known as Simón Díaz or by the nickname of uncle Simón.

He was a singer, musician, composer, poet, humorist, caricaturist and Venezuelan businessman.

He was born in Barbacoas Aragua, on August 8, 1928.

He was immersed in the artistic life since 1948 relizando various activities as humorous actor, assistant and music group atrilero. He began to mix music with humor and in this way became known throughout the country.

He married in 1961 with Betty García Urbano, with whom he had 3 children; Bettsymar, Simón and Juan Bautista Díaz García.
This hard union leads to the death of the artist.

He was distinguished with the order of the liberator in his order of great cordon which is the maximum decoration granted by the Venezuelan state, becoming the only national artist who has been imposed.
In 2008, he was awarded the Latin Grammy to the Trajectory, thanks to the application from an Internet portal where signatures were collected for that award. However, his appearance to collect the award was one of his last public presentations, since the artist was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease which ended his business and artistic activities. In 2012 he received the National Prize for Culture, Music Mention.

The artist died in Caracas on February 19, 2014 at the age of 85, after the progressive deterioration of his health.
The importance of the artist made the Venezuelan Government decreed three days of official mourning for his death.
