He began his music studies under the guidance of his father. At the age of four he entered the Venezuelan Children's Orchestra System to study violin, as well as musical composition. Then he attended the Jacinto Lara Conservatory and the Latin American Violin Academy.
In the mid-nineties he began conducting orchestral studies under the guidance of Rodolfo Sanglimbeni, who soon appointed him musical director of the Amadeus Orchestra. Then he went on to be under the guidance and instruction of the teacher José Antonio Abreu -founder of the System- and who will become his mentor.

From 1999 the young Gustavo Dudamel was appointed musical director of the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra of Youth of Venezuela. A decade later, on April 27, 2009, he directed the reopening concert of the Juares Theater in his hometown.
His quality as a director has been recorded in several documentaries and feature films dedicated to the musical interpretation of children and young people. Actions that allow showing music as an agent of change for better living conditions of the population of scarce resources.

Gustavo Dudamel is one of the most famous conductors of this 21st century. This young Venezuelan has reaped great successes given his quality and delivery for the music that has earned him countless recognitions. He is currently the musical director of our Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra and musical and artistic director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic (in an extensive contract). With this group he directed the Symphony No. 4 of Johannes Brahms, which was awarded the Grammy Award in 2012. His participation as a guest conductor extends to the most important orchestras in Europe, and that in 2017 will lead him through an intense tour with the Philharmonic of Berlin.
