Manuel Sutherland: Venezuela is creating a dependence of China.

Manuel Sutherland, economist and director to the Research Center and Worker’s Training (CIFO), indicated that due to the amount of the debt with China the country is in a situation of dependence.

“Venezuela is creating a very important dependence with the Asian giant and practically don’t have another alternative before the sanctions of the Unite States and the closing foreign debt market alternatives”.

The CIFO director assure that china would be willing to invest in sectors as a metallurgic and electric generation but under de condition that this will be make a reform that permit an economic opening to the foreign invest.

“The Chinese are trying to invest in several areas as electricity, iron and steel, but the Venezuelan legal framework is very complicate and they are trying to push for this to change so that there a new reform and economic opening. ”
