"A little bit of History"

Last Blackout

Another major national blackout occurred on the evening of Monday 22 July 2019. Nineteen states were affected. Subway transportation was also highly affected on rush hour traffic. Work and schools were suspended the following day. Maduro's administration reiterated the "electromagnetic attack" allegations as the cause of the blackout. Power returned to Caracas the following day. According to the new energy minister, Freddy Brito, power had returned to five of the states on 23 July which slowly tends to normalize..

«-Venezuela knocked offline-»

Offline

Reports on social media said that 19 of 24 Venezuelan states were also affected. Netblocks, a group monitoring internet activity, said network data showed most of Venezuela was knocked offline with national connectivity at just 6% after the latest cuts. Normally non-stop state TV, a key way for the government to keep people informed, was also off the air for a while, adding to frustrations.

The March blackout, the first of this year and the worst in decades, affected all 23 states and left millions of people without running water and telecommunications. That exacerbated an economic crisis that has halved the size of the economy.

«-Beliefs & Logic Reasoning-»

Shortages of the Venezuelan bolívar in cash have been aggravated by the blackouts. During the first days of the blackout the use of payment debit & credit cards was not possible, as electricity and internet were not available, and many banks were closed.

This problem, with the scarcity of cash, pushed some shops to accept only foreign currency, mostly the US dollar.

The need to use hard currency to conduct payments, frequently led to the US dollar becoming dominant for business transactions whilst banking was unavailable.

Overriding fears of the Maduro government's loose currency controls theoretically banning foreign currency, which supposedly accelerated the process of the popular currency defaulting to US dollars.

After few months hidden, the black market of Venezuela is back to whip the population even more. The difference between the black market price for buying dollars and the official rate has skyrocketed after months of relative stability. In barely one week, the bolivar has depreciated 18% against the dollar in the streets where the currency is traded informally.

Today 07/24/2019 04:00am UTC. Right now $1.0 USD costs 11,209 bolivars, according to MonitorDolarVzla, which compiles the average of a large number of different sources. This should be compared with 7,336 bolivars under the official rate.

Again, the Colombian mafias are applying the economic war through the kidnapping of the 100 and higher denomination bolivars banknotes. All this in order to get their circulation out of the Venezuelan market and artificially create a circulating vacuum. As has been manifested many times before by the banks in Venezuela, which is creating the impossibility of payments of salaries and pensions.

The presence of mafias in Cúcuta and Miami are currently creating new cyber attack vectors to the value of the bolivar, which had been maintained lately with some stability around Bs. 7,500 for each US dollar.

Along this last week, there are rumors that these ominous mafias have publicly announced their intentions to take the price of the Bolivar on the black market to sequential levels of gradual increases of 500+ bolivars per dollar interdiary.

And throughout this last week, I have witnessed that 'they' have succeeded with this agenda.

¿At what political moment does Venezuela face this situation?

"A Few Clues"

  • The massive blackout occurred at less than 24 hours after the conclusion of a meeting with more than 100 countries from the members of the non-Aligned Movement "MNOAL" And also two days after Venezuela received the delegation teams invited to the Sao Paulo Forum.

  • The massive blackout occurred after 72 hours of a report about an incident with an US military plane invading without authorization the Venezuelan airspace not reporting its presence to local authorities for a prolonged period of time and therefore presumably accused of have been performing spying maneuvers.

  • Since past week it was popularly known that on July 23, the payment of pensions to senior citizens would be deposited in their bank accounts by the Venezuelan government. As well as the payments related to all the social mission bonds for the rest of the population. Obviously, the blackout has interfered greatly with these financial operations.

  • Today, July 24 is a holiday in Venezuela. Due to the celebration of a highly symbolic historical national holiday. Since it's the birth of The Liberator Simon Bolivar which is commemorated every 24 of July.

  • In Vzla, currency exchange rate variations almost always coincide with increases in high political conflict. It is not accidental that right now that the Venezuelan government is going thru some high profile international dialogue processes the attack on our currency increases.

  • When 'they' attack our currency and politically manipulate the exchange rate, these attacks have two effects on the population:
They induce hyperinflation. National production is contracted and with this the purchasing power of the population deteriorates. And as part of these triggers; the citizen stops acquiring goods and services and those who produce it, decrease production or simply close their businesses. - Pascualina Curcio

Central Bank of Venezuela officially admits and estimates that the inflation rate has risen to 53,798,500% between 2016 to April 2019.

"53,798,500% hyperinflation in Vzla between 2016 to April 2019"

And it has been wilder on May, June & July.

...and also in USD dollars!!

A year and a half ago, a family of four needed $110 USD to pay for their monthly expenses. But now, that same family requires $710 USD to cover the same expenses: food, personal care, education, rent, services.

In my opinion, there is no such thing as mere coincidences or random chance events in this universe without a reason. Nothing comes from nothing, you know? And everything in this life always has an origin, a source, a cause and a logical explanation. I hope you find one in this post.

And although I think the video that I will share below to close this post is not yet available in English. I won't hesitate to allocate this highly didactic historical testimony here as a sticky note in spanish for a new article that I will soon gonna develop in my native tongue aimed mainly at the attention of my countrymen and also for all those Spanish speakers out there.

So, last but not least...
