The Biggest Blackout of the Contemporary Era

Hi, Steemians! this is one of the thousands of images running around the internet about the worst power outage in Venezuela's history, which has left more misery, hunger and deads than there already were.

From Thursday afternoon, Venezuelan people have been living an energy castastrophe that, according to the ilegitimate Government headed by Maduro, stopped on Tuesday. Nevertheless, the nightmare is not over in a considerable amount of territory, and it seems it won't, at least for now.

Zulia has problably been the most affected State in the whole country. Vandalism and continous lootings have taken to bankrupcy dozens and dozens of locals, prompting losses for more than 10M $, and more than 1 billion in total.

The problem is so big that the people, lacking of food and other main products, have looted cigarrete shops, hardware stores and a large list of bussineses that nothing have to do with food.

The regime of the usurpator Maduro has done nothing but victimize itself. Some blame the President in charge Juan Guaidó and the US. Others do blame the Colombian mafia, but no one accepts the consequences of not investing on the maintenance of the power plants, and the negligence that goes with it.

The thing is that the most comparable case in latin america happened in Brazil in 1999, that is 20 years ago. Today, Venezuela is worse than ever, and this last situation has shown how far the crisis is going.
