Brazil today urged Venezuela to offer information about the young Brazilian resident in the United States, Jonatan Moisés Diniz, who according to Chavez leader Diosdado Cabello was arrested at the end of December, accused of being part of a "criminal organization."

The Foreign Ministry requested the Venezuelan authorities "to respond quickly to the various requests for information on the location" of Jonatan Moisés Diniz, as well as his "legal situation," according to a statement.

Brazil reiterated the request for a consular visit, based on the terms "of the international conventions and in accordance with the obligations assumed by the two countries in light of international law."

The police authorities of Venezuela, however, did not respond, despite repeated requests from Brazil, which were formalized through diplomatic notes.

At the same time, the Brazilian Embassy in Caracas undertook several negotiations with the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the country's security authorities to determine his whereabouts, while in Brasilia, the Venezuelan Embassy did not provide clarifications either, the Foreign Ministry explained.

We already know about this type of CIA actions, on other occasions and in other countries, facades of ONG to travel the country and identify strategic objectives, finance terrorists and others, "he said.
