IOX Aceh Seulawah Expedition 3, the story of an incredible experience.

The Priceless and Incredible Expedition

Starting from 27 April to 1 May 2018, the annual event IOX Aceh Seulawah Expedition 3 started from Banda Aceh heading to Pidie District. The participants were about 45 off-road equipped vehicles. The expedition was scheduled to explore the challenging tracks in the the heart of Seulawah Mountain passing through Aceh Besar to Pidie Districts. From the event briefing, the route would be considered extreme and full of exciting challenges. The combination between hills and mountains, mud and rivers, valleys and trapped wood. It was pretty attractive.

The expedition was my first extreme off-road. Therefore, I was very delightful and eager to join in. However, my main role was a "photographer". I was expected to only focus on making videos and taking photos. As a result, I was able to capture many important and incredible moments. The moments of team work and driver capability were some great.

IOX Expedition is classified extreme and risky but safety is no compromised. This trend mark is clearly delivered to all event participants. All units [vehicles] should equip and support recovery needs during the expedition. The participants should strictly check security aspect. The participant were highly reminded to highly prioritize the safety aspect beyond. The vehicle protection is one of the most important including basic equipment such as ropes and suckles during climbing and trapping of the vehicle.

For me, the expedition leaves me lots of experiences and lessons. Since it was my first expedition, I tried to learn and enjoy every momentum. I was able to witness how drivers prepared the vehicles and spent lots of money to be part of the expedition. For me, it would be impossible since it needs such a lot money to "build" an off-road car. But the experience is amazing.

However, being in the extreme off-road expedition was a lovely trip. I think I will do it again.

Off-road is a great hobby.
