I had the pleasure of test driving one while visiting Hungary in the 80's. What jolly fun. It was like a cross between driving a ride-on lawnmower and a dune buggy.
I shouldn't joke about it, because if you lived in the East and wanted a car you had to pay for it all up front, take your place on the wait-list, and when your car arrives (3 years later) you pay the price difference.
I'm not surprised this one is still running, they had so few moving parts there is less to go wrong, and a body made out of pressed cardboard it just doesn't rust.

The Trabant also looks so funny, like a toy car :P but these days it's a rarity and you won't find many any more ;)
This one must be owned by an auto enthusiast. It is so well kept. Oh did I mention that they had 2 stroke engines and you had to use a gasoline (petrol) and engine oil mix for fuel. What exhaust they created! Now imagine 100,000 + in a city.
