Having worked in forestry for 10 years, I can assure you that in many places we make sure we log sustainably. Every cut I ever did was followed by a careful prepping and replanting to make sure we still have trees in the future. Lots of places unfortunately don't do this. Hopefully with a bit of education they'll get there.
@driptorchpress hi, thank you for your comment. It is a blessing to have responsible people like you. A few weeks ago, massive flooding hit many areas in the Philippines (especially in my home island, Mindanao). Our government pointed to excessive logging as the root cause and vowed to investigate the matter. I would think they should not wait for massive flooding to force logging companies to be responsible and sustainable.
