Everything can't be sunshine and rainbows for all aspects of life. Where would this world be if there were no opposing viewpoints? A world full of yes types takes us nowhere.
Yes, everything can't be sunshine & rainbows. But does this mean you won't make an effort for that to happen? Sunshine or rainbows can only mean anything if there is life. No life, no use of all those things. So primary thing is to preserve life on priority. For view points to exist, world should exist too.
You already know how unsustainable fishing is. According to National Geographic, the accelerating rate of loss to ocean biodiversity will lead to zero fishes in all of world's ocean by 2048. It has already created several dead zones in oceans and other water bodies. Do you think humanity can survive its after-effects?
We co-exist on this planet with all other animals. Humans can't exist all alone on their own. So humans need to save all animals for their own selfish (long term) interest too.
For the sake of opposing viewpoints to exist, do you support the activities like terrorism, murder, rape, wars, crimes etc. as a must for this world to sustain? That's why I said that you are a part of the problem for this humanity. Nihilism won't take you anywhere, my friend!
