Another short extract from my upcoming book, Freedom is the Highest Truth: The Science of Liberty for Man and Animal.
...Furthermore, upon examination of the relationship between human beings and farmed animals, it becomes apparent that the interaction is entirely non-consensual and violent. The general public impose their will upon animals, subjecting hundreds of billions of creatures to torturous conditions and, in turn, become enslaved and deprived of their own freedom by crooks in the political sphere.
The slavery of but one creature jeopardizes the freedom of all. To quote Martin Luther King Jr., “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
To continue aggressing upon and enslaving animals, to lock them in cages and deprive them of their freedom, to ‘farm’ and exploit them for monetary gain, to mutilate and dismember their body parts and sell them as items on the supermarket shelves, to slash open their throats, electrocute and gas them, to treat them as mere objects rather than the highly complex and emotional beings they are, only further solidifies our own enslavement.
So long as animals are farmed, caged, and slaughtered against their will, for no other reason than to satisfy a fleeting taste sensation, human beings will never experience true peace and freedom.
"For as long as men massacre animals, they will kill each other. Indeed, he who sows the seed of murder and pain cannot reap joy and love.” - Pythagoras
