We accept that PMS, heavy menstrual bleeding, painful periods, irritability, mood swings, mini breakdown’s, breast tenderness and fibroids are all normal. They are not, and there's a way to fix it.

Estrogen Dominance occurs when estrogen levels are too high, (it can also happen when progesterone levels fall too low) and it can occur at any time in life.

Estrogen dominance can be caused by:
A) Being overweight: The more body fat, the more the body tips the balance towards estrogen
B) Poor liver function: the liver is responsible for eliminating metabolized or “used up” hormones, especially estrogens. Sluggish from refined foods and environmental chemicals
C) Digestive issues which inhibit the estrogen detoxification process in the liver and overproduce cortisol which blocks progesterone receptors.
D) Chronic stress: adrenal glands “steal” the precursor to progesterone (DHEA) and instead use it to produce cortisol, your body’s stress hormone, tipping the hormonal balance in favor of estrogen.

Fixing the Problem:

  1. Eat a whole foods, high fiber vegan diet
  2. Seed Cycle to rebalance your menstrual cycle
  3. Support your liver through juicing, eating bitter greens, incorporating more fiber, and more Vitamin B rich foods like bananas, spinach, walnuts, sweet potato, beans and prunes
  4. Support digestion with a digestive enzyme or ACV and by eliminating refined/process foods
  5. Decrease cortisol by lowering stress levels through yoga, meditation, long walks, etc.
  6. Decrease exposure to estrogens in the diet and environment, including plastic bottles, coffee, pesticides, soda and stop consuming meats & dairy (this includes whey protein powder). -
