"Ruled by Philia" a Valentines day post
On St. Valentine’s Day,
We focus on that form of love,
Eros,
Which is so entangled with lust.
Eros is so very
Ephemeral, Fleeting and
Fragile.
It could almost be said to be
POINTLESS!
~
Brotherly Love, or
Philia,
Is more Fundamentally Important!!
This is how We Relate to each other,
How we regard our
Fellow Humans, Including Our Mates.
If you have Filial Love (Brotherly Love),
I think this covers the rest of
Our interactions.
~
“Storge”, a new term
For me, refers to ‘natural love', as a
Parent loves a child.
~
Our Familial Love is as important as
Filial Love;
They would be the same
Thing,
But for different
Reasons.
~
Guard your
Heart, don’t let Eros
Rule, when Philia
Should reign
Supreme.
