RE: Medically kidnapped: Doctor gave infant Gardasil but mother is blamed for injury
Very disturbing story. At the very least, the doctor should be investigated for giving the wrong injection to the baby. I did some research on Gardasil when it was offered to my teenage daughter and discovered stories about damaging side-effects. Actually, the nation-wide campaign to give this Gardasil to school-children failed as parents refused to have their kids used as guinea-pigs.
Yes, the doctor should definitely be investigated. With a story like this one, I'd almost bring a camera to any visit to a doctor...I'm not sure what the 'success' rate for Gardasil is everywhere, but here in Ireland it was quite huge. I think a lot less now. When my daughter was in school they were doing the vaccinations at her school (she was 12 or 13 I think). My friend's daughter and my daughter were the only ones who didn't get vaccinated then. My daughter's best friend at the time didn't want to get the vaccine, but had to because her mother had signed for it. She told the nurse about her fears and that her two friends weren't getting it. The nurse told her: Well then their parents obviously don't care that they could die if they don't get the vaccine. I couldn't believe what I heard! That was so uncalled for and why would someone say something like that to a teen. That same girl had a (luckily) minor reaction to the vaccine. She almost fainted not long after the shot and had to go home for the day.
