thetravelman and his crew make a stop at Mt. Rushmore
100% totality CHECK! Yellowstone National Park CHECK! And now we make our journey..... Mt. Rushmore! We decided we want to hit the monument from the north side! On our way we decided to slide through "The Black Hills". I cannot stress this enough, its a must see! Green hills as far as you can see. Herds of buffalo taking over the GREEN hills. Complete silence and beauty. We actually got out of the van and decided to get closer to the herd. As we got about 150 ft. from the herd they started running. When they started running we all felt the ground shake. It was actually kind of scary thinking about if they were to attack us. 
We exited The Black Hills and headed for the backroads to Mt. Rushmore. 10 ft wide roads that curved like a snake. Very cool! 3 different tunnels made of crystal we had to pass through....
One of the coolest roads of this trip. I suggest you come in from the north. Finally we reached out destination. Mt. Rushmore! You could 100% feel the patriotic energy. Probably the most Governmental energy of the entire East to West coast roadtrip.
