I wasn't even aware of the slider until a few days ago lol. I'm a ways off of reaching the current threshold of 500 SP.

I do like the idea of reducing it down to 250 as you are proposing. I agree that without the slider, people are more careful with their votes and are less likely to make multiple votes. Right now I basically save my vote for people who comment on my posts (I'd say that about 80% of my vote goes to such comments). If I could reduce the power of those votes I would definitely spread it around more. However, you also raise a good point in your suggestion that it should be graded. A 1% vote from an account with 250SP is basically pointless.
