Introduction

Dcontest is a DAPP that provides a sort of contest and service which favours the minnows up to the whales. A random steemit user post is promoted on a daily basis and what you have to do is just predict the total payout of the promoted content after 24 hours. There are liquid steem rewards for participation and winning. The platform also offers content promotion service in exchange for steempower delegation.

My suggestion is on

• Website landing page
• User profile section

Proposal

The platform looks simple and easy to understand. Adding few functions will make it better. I propose the addition of

• User prediction history – Logging into the website will allow users to make predictions on any of the current posts. You will discover that there is no way to view all your past predictions in one place. The user profile can be turned into a link that will display all users’ predictions.
• Ranking list – Since this is a sort of payout prediction, having a ranking list that will show all the predicted amounts with respect to the promoted content current payout will be good.
• Additional Filter – when logged in on the site, you can see the list of posts. Scrolling down to view older posts means you have to click the older posts button every now and then. The filter option for users to select the number of posts they want to see in a page will rectify this problem.

Mockups/Examples

The above mockup shows how the user profile should be modified. You can see the user prediction history and the posts in a tabular format.

This is how the ranking feature will look like when added. It will show the predictions made and the current post payout.

This last image shows how the filter option should look. Users can select any of the numbers to display the contents.

Benefits

User predictions history- having this feature will greatly improve the website. Users can easily check their past predictions in one place at a glance. It will save them the stress and time used to access third party websites just to check your past predictions. It will be useful particularly when making new predictions as a user can look at the past ones and make improvement on it.

Ranking List- Dcontest is one that rewards users that makes prediction close to the promoted content payout in 24 hours. Showing a daily ranking list of all predictions made with respect to the current payout of the promoted post will improve the site. Participants and other users can easily see the top ranked predictions and can use that to determine what their own prediction will be.

Additional filters- Navigating through a list of contents and clicking a particular button just to load the next contents is annoying. It waste time. The presence of the filter will make the user choose the number of contents to display at once. A user can choose to display 5, 10, 20, or 100 depending on choice. It will reduce the stress and time involved in scrolling down and pressing a button multiple times.

Conclusion

Implementation of this features will greatly improve Dcontest and make it more appealing to users. The features will increase transparency and change the way Dcontest is utilized.
