About Crowdin

Crowdin is an online localization management platform for mobile, web, desktop apps, games and help desks. Its online service can be divided into three parts:

• Management and organization,

• Localization for developers, and

• Translation and proofreading.

You can help with projects on this platform or even start your own project. Recently, I am helping with the translation for Open Source Projects through their platform. Crowdin provides a user-friendly environment for people to work on. Its translation environment looks like:

As can be seen from the image, the left side hand shows all the terms (words, phrases, or sentences) that require translation. Once you click on one term, it'll appear at the top of the middle section. The editing area under that is where you input your translation. The area under the input section is the translations already there. Below is some machine suggested translations. The right hand side of the screen is commets and terms. If you are not sure about the context or something else, you may input comments there. All the people working on this project can share thoughts or give advice to each other.

About Froody

Today, I am working on a project for Froody. It is an APP which aims to share food among people, and you can find the project at: https://github.com/froodyapp/froody-android, and the translation project is available at:

The project on Crowdin are all composed of three parts:

• Files: where you can find the project,
• Activity: the contribution of all the people who work on this project, and
• Discussions: the discussion of the people who work on this project.

I think it's a very cool idea to share food to others. We can help each other by providing food, and meanwhile, it is able to reduce the amount of waste. If you also love this idea, please tell your friends about it.

My contribution

Before I started my translation, no one has worked on it yet. As you can see from the following image, this project is made up of three parts and they are all 0% completed.

After my translation, the project is 100% completed, as shown in the following image.
