WordPress: Show the readers when the blog post was updated or changed

in #utopian-io7 years ago (edited)

Old blog postings may possibly scare off some visitors. Therefore, many bloggers tend to hide the article date. I think, however, that this should be handled proactively and that you make a virtue out of necessity: not only show the date of creation but also the date of the last update.

This not only makes the blog post more up to date, but you will also gain the confidence of the visitor, because it also shows that you are trying to keep the content up to date and that it is important to you.

The code checks if there are updates of the blog post and if so, it checks if they are older than 12 hours. If this is the case, the update date and time are displayed. Showing changes that are younger is not useful in my opinion, as they are usually corrections of articles (spelling & co.).

By the way! In the README. md on GitHub my full name was already written.
