Improvement by adding display time and daily max on timesapp

Component
Timesapp is an android mobile application that helps in managing the use or control of mobile apps usage.
It also serves in adding new application pegged on mobile home screen for easy accessibility.
Another fantastic feature is, it assists in setting a timer of how long user will like to spend on an application, more like the time management and there will be a notification at the end of the time set by the user.
The app interface is elegant and simple; it comprises of all apps that are on the mobile, and all these applications are accessible through the application.
The app is easy to use because of the tutorial that is added to the settings section of the app to ease usage.
Other settings include; the default time for an app timer, shortcut timer icon, and stop timer button of the flip long click action.
The application is quite nice and simple to use, but I find something when I used some functions on the application which requires some enhancement and another feature needs to be added.
When setting a timer, the timing will be counting invisibly on the application, and the app will stop at the set time, I think that section can be enhanced.
Proposals
I propose the implementation;
- Function to enable display count time
- Set daily max usage on an application
Display time: Currently, when the time is being set on an application to last for 10 min, once the app is accessed the counting start immediately but the counting of time is not visible, and the app stops immediately when the set time is reached, but I think some users like me would like to see a countdown of time set. To know the exact time left to utilize the application.
For instance, I open a gallery app, set time to 5 min, this function will enable seeing a timer showing the countdown left to use the gallery.
The implementation of this feature could give users the chance to check or uncheck this function on the ''settings''. I believe most people would like to see the count than the invincible current count.
Set daily usage: The application works to manage the time users spends on other mobile applications to avoid excessive waste of time while there are other important things to do.
I think the application can further be developed to have the function to set maximum time to spend on some application for the whole 24hrs.
E.g., As a user, I realized I spend excessive time playing Game of Thrones on my device, this function will allow me to set the maximum of time I want to spend on playing Game of Thrones through the application.
So, if I set 2hrs on Game of Thrones, played for 40min and exited the application, then if I decide to access Game of throne through the app again I should only have 1hr,20min to play within the 24hrs, and once done ''Game of Throne'' will not be accessible for that day through the Timeapps application.
There will be a need for an additional function which could be ''set max'' and when accessed; all the applications within the device will be there to set daily max.
Mockups
Image below shows how the function to display time can be incorporated into the app.
How the countdown might look like if implemented
Pictorial Illustration of how the ''set daily max'', showing how it might look like, creating another interface for the effectiveness of the function.
Image below shows how I think the function can affect every app within the device.
Benefits
I believe these improvements will make the application to be more cordial and helpful. As a user, setting the time I want to use on an application without knowing when the app will close makes me feel outlandish because it always caught me unaware.
It will help in knowing the time left which will make users conclude their progress on any application he/she might be exploring.
Set daily usage will serve as another control edge for users, helping in time management and creating more time for other things other than spending excessive time on some application within the phone.
These will also help in maximizing all the time that will be spent on some mobile apps to avoid addictions, for users that really want to discipline themselves and adapt.
Thank you for your time, those are the improvement I consider valuable for the further development of the project and to suit the requirement of some users.
Hello @tykee,thank you for your contribution through the Utopian.Your suggestion is well explained and detailed really great. However, these ideas will not have a huge impact on the application. The ideas are well thought and very well explained and also supported with great mockups. The only thing that avoids the higher score for this contribution is the ideas. These ideas will not have a huge impact on the project.
Also, thank you for sharing your ideas with the project owner on Github, you are doing amazing job on Utopian, please keep it up!
