SteemHunt Hall of Fame

Components

This would involve adjustments to the right-hand panel of steemhunt to provide an additional page which could be used to show the top sites on steemhunt.

Proposal

Currently, within the SteemHunt application, you have the ability to add sites that you believe would be useful to other Steem users. When you add a new site to the list it is shown in a leaderboard style on the right-hand side of the page. Currently, the right-hand side of the page where sites are held is ordered day to day with sites in each day ordered by the amount of vote worth they have received.

I propose an addition to the site which would allow users to view sites that have been added to SteemHunt in a different format. I propose that an additional option is added to the site which would allow a user to enter the "Steem Hunt Hall of Fame" within the Hall of Fame a user would be able to see the top ranking sites that have been added to SteemHunt.

When a user enters the hall of fame page they would be presented with the ability to view sites by all time, by month and by week. A user would be able to see the top 10 sites for each of these filter options. For example, if a user selected all time they would see all the top 10 sites all time, these sites would be ordered by vote worth as per current implementation. This means that if there was 100 sites added to SteemHunt only the top 10 sites which have received the highest amount of votes by vote worth would be shown. Each site shown in the hall of fame page would be either made up of a card or similar list style as per the current implementation. Each card shown in the hall of fame would be made up for the following (I have also added a brief description as to why):

  1. Amount of votes and vote worth
This would be used a the main order method and would help show that this was deemed the most important by the voters
  2. Site Name
Needs to be added to help guide a user of what they're viewing on the site
  3. Site Description
Again, helps provide context to the user about what they're seeing
  4. Site Image
    Further context to the user
  5. When it was added
Provide context to the user as to how recent the post was

All of the above information should be available using the endpoints which currently run the site.

Mockups / Examples

The following provides an example of how this could look, one this mock you can see a filter for all time, month and week as well as an indication into how these cards could be sorted.

Benefits

The main benefit that this particular feature would have for a user and the project would be:

Allow a user to quickly view the sites which have been deemed to be the best additions to SteemHunt

Currently, the current sorting method of showing the sites per day makes it hard to view sites that were added in the past, this means that in order for me to find sites that were added at the beginning of SteemHunt would require me to keep moving scrolling down the list day by day. If a site was added 30 days ago this would mean I would need to scroll through 30 days. By adding this feature it would remove this barrier, it would allow a user to quickly find the top ranking sites without the need to scroll through numerous days.

By also only showing the top ranking sites this will allow me to hide sites which haven't been deemed as excellent by the members who vote on SteemHunt. Overall it should make a users time on SteemHunt to be much more smoother and overall allow users to find sites which could be important to me quickly and conveniently.
