I cannot reproduce this on Android 6 using LeafPic v0.6-beta-1. What version are you running? Have you reproduced with other file managers besides Amaze?

I tried on two file managers.
Here is what happened when I opened a picture through dir file manager.

And this is what happened on AnExplorer
