Guardian Officer Grants the Player No Benefit

Expected Behavior
Purchasing the Guardian Officer provides some benefit to the player relating to defense or economy since it is the highest ranked officer in that tech tree.
Actual Behavior
Purchasing the Guardian Officer does not provide any benefit. It used to provide a new type of shield for planet defense, but that appears to have been removed with nothing added to replace it.
How to Reproduce
- Log into https://steemnova.intinte.org/game.php?
- Tap on Officers in the left menu
- Purchase all Officers serving as prerequisites to the Guardian officer (this will take several months worth of Black Matter)
- Purchase the Guardian
- Search all menus for a benefit the Guardian granted
Test Environment
Browser: Chrome 68.0.3399.0
Operating system: Android 8.1
Guardian supposed to grant you the ability to build new, superior defence.
However, that was removed from the game a while back.
Not a bug. Just useless.

I wouldn't actually consider this a bug, since it still brings you one step closer to the Emperor. The Officers will probably get a complete overhaul sometime "soon".
The description of the Guardian specifically states it enhances defenses, and it used to do that until recently:
"The Guardian is part of the Imperial Army and its goal is to develop technologies that improve the planetary defenses."
The Emperor does not grant any defensive bonus, and the description specifically states the officer by itself should grant a bonus.
Hello! While I understand that this is clearly an issue with the game, it's an UX issue and not a bug caused by a technical difficulty. As such, it does not technically qualify as a bug, rather an overlooked element of the gameplay.
That being said, we appreciate your report. It sadly doesn't fall under our definition of a bug, but I'm sure @mys will appreciate it anyway.
