in #utopian-io6 years ago (edited)

  • You will learn about the logical operators that are in Kotlin
  • You will learn about five basic collection types in Kotlin

Requirements

  • The Kotlin Compiler or The Intellij/Eclipse IDE
  • A basic understanding of the JVM as a platform
  • A surface level understanding of Object oriented programming

Difficulty

  • Basic

Description

In this video tutorial, we continue to look at the Kotlin programming language. We build upon the knowledge we learned from looking at the basic number types and we look at the built in mathematical operations in the language. We also look at some of the syntactical sugar operations and shortcut operators that allow us to increment and decrement variables. We take a look at the various logical operators that are offered by the base Kotlin language as well. Finally, we look at five different collection types that are core in the Kotlin programming language: Strings, Arrays, Lists, Sets, and Hashmaps.

Kotlin is future for Android application

Yeah it is. Though I would argue that so is dart flutter. Personally, I like to use both, dart for the UI and kotlin for the backend.
