Send Unwanted Posts to Trash in Steemit

"To err is human, to delete is divine..."

ISSUE

Users should have the ability to remove some of unwanted posts from their feed.

SUMMARY

In other social media sites, users have very easy way to delete posts. But since steemit is running on top of a blockchain, anything that is posted cannot be deleted. We were told about the Immutability of blockchain wherein any transactions that gathered enough consensus from nodes will be recorded and kept permanently. Sure, users can edit it but the original copy will remain recorded. Also, it will forever appear in our blog.

Recently, we saw a lot of duplicate posts appearing in our feed. It is the result of "transaction error" that keeps users on hitting the "Post" button thinking that their previous actions failed. The result is a stream of unwanted duplicate posts that is not really pleasant to look at and might be subject to flagging from other users.

Suggestion:

I would like to proposed that steemit put a place where any unwanted posts can be dumped. For this post, lets call that place "Trash." It can be placed here:

So if you have any unwanted posts, you can send it to "Trash" by editing your post and clicking the trash icon.

Sending an item to trash will result in the following:

• The post will no longer appear in your blog / personal feed.
• The post will no longer appear in someone's else feed or any other feed.
• The post can no longer be upvoted immediately after it was sent to trash. Optionally, in case of plagiarism or other violations, rewards from trashed posts is burned and forfeited.

And because anything can't really be deleted in the blockchain, Trashed items are stored in the trash folder which can be accessed through the trash icon from profile menu or through the address bar:

I believe that having this mechanism in steemit, users can have a better control on their content.
