Step-by-Step How-to For Submitting Work to Utopian.io
Do you have a new app design, or suggestions you believe would enhance Steem platforms?
Then, utopian.io is a website you should invest energy in learning more about, as accepted proposals may receive compensation in SD.
Recently, I came across a very helpful video by @aggroed, offering a step-by-step guide for making submissions, as explained by Utopian CEO, @elear.
After spending more days than I care to mention trying to access the utopian.io platform, I’m very glad to say I finally succeeded. Of course, apologies are due, as it was a major omission on my part, for the so-called ‘glitch’ that no one else was experiencing. (more on that below)
This post is to share my trial-and-error experience to help Utopian newbies get started without delay.
As noted, until recently, I haven't been able to access utopian.io, as the redirect to Steem Connect (SC) kept me in a perpetual loop.
Presumably, SC doesn’t have a way to tell me that I need to JOIN first. Of course, common sense might suggest that; however, I thought I was connected via the Steemit login. NOT CORRECT.
So, first things first, log in/join SC (link below).
Next, enter the utopian url (link below). Sign in, and voila, eazy peezy, you should be ready to peruse this well-designed site.
I strongly encourage you to watch the archived tutorial by @aggroed, for a more-detailed discussion of each function (link below).
Here are a few takeaways:
Once on the landing page, click on the blue box in the right top corner labeled** CONTRIBUTION**.
You are given 12 categories to choose from. I recommend taking the time to peruse each one, as each offers detailed requirements.
In the tutorial, Suggestion was selected. Read the rules; and select I understand. This directs you to a page that looks like a Steemit posting page.
In the Githup project box, type utopian.io. Press Enter.
Several options drop down. Select the first. After creating your post, it’s time to add the tags. The first tag is automatically set as utopian-io. You only have to create up to four more tags to make your post more visible. Two thumbs up for the auto-set time saver.
Back to the main page, the next primary option is BLOG POSTS. It’s specifically for submitting posts helping create the utopian.io weekly newsletter, primarily regarding Open Source Projects, and relevant internet news.
The Task Request allows you to seek developers to build something for you. To create a request, first click on the Github box in the bottom right corner. It will redirect you back to utopian.io, allowing you to make the request.
There are additional key options that I will leave the tutorial to clarify.
But, if you want to become part of the wonderful new opportunities offered by the utopian.io platform, I hope this post gives you a head start on what to expect.
